To fully cover all of the different specifical subjects that make up ICT, MIME allows the students to choose one among four different tracks each relating to a broader field of ICT knowledge and applications.

 

Each track focuses on some specific issues and offers in-depth teachings to present students with variegated learning opportunities, preparing them to become leading experts in the selected field, all the while keeping an eye on working opportunities.

Communication Technologies

The Communication Technologies track explores the core ICT subjects (digital transmission, signal processing, electromagnetism) in full depth, preparing students for all the challenges they will meet when working in ICT. 

The focus is on physical layer technologies, such as modern multi-antenna systems, fiber optics channels, and quantum communication systems. Modern wireless systems are thoroughly addressed via dedicated courses. Theory lessons are complemented with lab-oriented courses. 

Cybersystems

The Cybersystems curriculum focuses on networking technologies, encompassing the Internet, its protocols, and theoretical models of networked and wireless systems. It also covers databases and web applications. Students are introduced to optimization techniques for network and ICT system design, along with machine/deep learning and cybersecurity. 

Multimedia

The Multimedia curriculum is devoted to the study of multimedia signals and systems, including their transmission over the Internet. 

Theory-oriented courses lay the foundations of signals from source coding to their processing, and lab-oriented courses are also available to provide hands-on experience. The study path is enriched with courses on machine/deep and reinforcement learning, cybersecurity/digital forensics, databases, and Web applications. 

ICT for Life and Health

The ICT for Life & Health curriculum is devoted to studying communication technologies and signal-processing tools for the medical field. This entails transmitting and processing human and biomedical data, using modern machine learning and deep learning techniques. 

The study plan is enriched with courses on biological data and related applications. 

Research and Innovation

The Research and Innovation curriculum is designed to provide the student with a solid theoretical background encompassing electromagnetism, signals, wireless/transmission systems, computer vision, learning and optimization theory. 

After that, advanced courses complete the profile focusing on laboratory and research-oriented activities. 

This is the ideal choice for students wishing to continue with a research career, either in the industry or academia.
