Last Friday, many MIME student
s took an evening trip from Padova to the province of Ferrara
, in a small town called Buonacompra
, to celebrate the sagra there in a very traditional dinner.
In Italy, a sagra is a local festival / county fair, often dedicated to a specific food. Buonacompra's sagra (www.buonacompra.it
) is no exception, with the main course served there being the "Salama da sugo
", a very tasty sausage typical of that province - not exactly close to Padova. For this reason, it was actually kinda unusual for most of our students, even the Italian ones, who had to take care of explaining to their classmates from abroad about the customs of local food. But it does not matter as, in an authentic Italian spirit, this traditional dinner became a very good excuse to socialize and be instant friend with each other!
In the end, about 40 people, including MIME students but also their friends and special ones, were trying the salama and other delicacies from the region, and having a good time together, as the picture shows.
